Rakumar Rao completes 15 years in Bollywood (Social Media)
Entertainment News: Bollywood actor Rajkummar Rao has completed 15 years in the industry. Early in his career, the actor was seen playing supporting roles in movies like 'Rann,' 'Gangs of Wasseypur,' 'Talash,' and 'Kai Po Che.' He slowly started coming into the limelight for his lead roles in movies like “Shahid,” “Aligarh,” “Trapped,” “Newton,” “Bareilly Ki Barfi,” “Badhaai Do,” “Stree 2,” and “Bhool Chuk Maaf.” After completion of 15 years in the Bollywood industry, Rajkumar Rao has said in an interview that he wants the people to remember him as someone who was in the industry for the right reasons.
“When people think of me after many years, I want them to think of me with a lot of respect, somebody who took his work seriously and who was here for the right reasons, for the right intentions, and not for fame, but to contribute to our cinema,” Rao, who made his debut in Bollywood with a three-second role in Amitabh Bachchan-starrer “Rann” in 2010, told PTI in an interview. The experienced actor said he feels blessed that audiences have connected with his work over the years.
Rajkumar Rao is all geared up for his exciting role as a gangster in his new movie, Maalik. The movie is directed by Pulkit, who got famous for 'Bhakshak' earlier in his career. “It was not the first time somebody offered me an action film; I was offered this genre before, but I couldn't connect with those stories. But when I read this, I thought it was such a powerful story about this guy's rise; the arc was beautiful,” said Rao.
Citing references of 'Srikant,' the actor said, "I was missing seeing myself doing something very different." " Like last year, I'm glad 'Srikanth' happened; it was very different from 'Mahi.' "I want to do something that maybe I don't expect out of myself." When asked about if his new role is something the audience has seen in Guns & Gulabs or Omerta, the actor replied, “This one is a full-blown action film. It's one of those, massy, big commercial action films with the heart in its right place. There's a great story attached to it, and there are great characters. So, it's very, very different from whatever I've done to date.” Maalik will be released on 11th July.
